Einstein's Secret Thinking Technique Revealed

Friday, March 7, 2008
I was reading, I think in Robert Dilt's book, Strategies of Genius, Vol.2, that Einstein used to do thinking experiments holding two rocks in his hands so if he nodded off to sleep the rocks would fall, waking him up.

After studying some lucid dreaming techniques, I was suprized at how much more creative I could be in the hypnogogic state ( just before sleep meets you) and the hypnopopic state ( in the moment's after waking).

You probably jumped ahead to the secret, so I'll reveal it right now.

Perhaps, using the carrying of the rocks to maintain the hypnogogic state Einstein was abled to extend the time spent in this truely magnificent creative state.

I'd love to get your comments on your experiences ( like many creativity techniques it might require a little discipline, but trust me the rewards have been vast).

Does Right Brain Left Brain Thinking Really Work?

It depends on how you think about it.

One of the things that the great psychic Ingo Swan intimated was that; our conditioning and our beliefs form the filter through which these gifts, inhibited, must flow.

So when I do contour drawing of my Cowrie shell, there is a lovely state of mind I enter into that doubles, often trebles and more, my creative spark, especially when using a generation list.

Imagine if your creativity was enhanced by twice as much and perhaps twice as much again how much we might accomplish.

I learned this by chance, from an indirect suggestion, in a book on right brain creativity. Funny how these RB techniques still work admirably, even after they " debunked " them.

Perhaps they were just holding their mouths wrong. Definitely.

Sfumato, Leonardo's The Melding Of The Delicate Edges
bookmark this at :: del.icio.us :: Digg it
Sfumato has been described in Buchholz's, " Leonardo da Vinci" as an especially soft almost inperceptable gradation of tone and shade in a painting.

Leonardo himself said, "...that light and shade should merge into each other without any visible transitions, as if a fine veil of mist was shrouding the objects."

In terms of your own inate creativity, sfumato is every connection, soft and subtle as they are, between the all and the everything. And you must explore each of them, as fully as possible, in your quest for everyone of those magical ideas.

And the ideas will surely show themselves, not long after you begin now.

We were talking about song writing and he said" Often what I'll do is I'll hum the the music for a while , then record mouthing the words as gibberish and then I find words close to the gibberish words and my song is halfway done."

Wow

For Some interesting songwriting tips from a great website.
